Team Settings

Configure team-specific settings including team name, IP access restrictions, and team deletion.

Configure team-specific settings including team name, IP access restrictions, and team deletion from a centralized settings page. Team Settings provides team owners and administrators with tools to manage team configuration while restricting access for regular members and viewers.

Capabilities

• Edit team name and display information [Team Owner/Admin only]

How to Use

1. Access team settings:

   • Select the team from the team switcher in the sidebar
   • Click Settings in the team’s sidebar navigation
   • URL format: /teams/:teamSlug/settings
   • The page adapts to your role: Team Owner and Admin see all edit controls, while Members and Viewers see a read-only subset
   

2. Edit team name [Owner/Admin only]:

   • Team name displayed at top with avatar (first letter)
   • Click edit button (pencil icon) next to team name
   • Enter new team name in edit field
   • Changes save automatically or on blur
   • Team name updates across all team displays
   • Members see name without edit button

3. Configure IP restrictions [Owner/Admin only]:

   • “Restrict access by IP” section controls IP-based access
   • Click + button to add allowed IP addresses
   • Enter IP addresses or CIDR ranges
   • Multiple IPs can be added for team access control
   • When enabled, only specified IPs can access team resources
   • Useful for security compliance and access control
   • Members cannot modify IP restrictions

4. Delete team [Team Owner only]:

   • “Delete entire team” button appears in red at bottom
   • Warning text: “Permanently delete your team and all its data”
   • Click delete button to initiate deletion
   • Confirmation dialog appears with warning
   • Enter team name to confirm deletion
   • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
   • Deletes all team projects, members, and associated data
   • Only Team Owner can delete team (not Admin)

5. Leave the team [Team Member / Admin]:

   • The Leave team card appears at the bottom of the settings page for members and admins
   • Click the card to open a confirmation dialog, then confirm to leave
   • After leaving, you are redirected away from the team — you lose access to the team’s projects and chats
   • The Team Owner cannot leave — ownership must be transferred first, or the team must be deleted

6. Navigate back:

   • Click back arrow to return to team page
   • Click team name to navigate to team projects
   • Settings save automatically during editing
   • No explicit save button required

Not Supported:

• Team Members and Viewers cannot edit settings (Owner/Admin only)
• Uploading custom team logos or avatars
• Team archiving (must delete to remove)
• Restoring deleted teams (deletion is permanent)
• Transferring team ownership during deletion (must transfer first)
• Team templates or preset configurations
• Bulk team settings import/export
• Team description or additional metadata fields
• Custom team colors or themes
• Scheduled team deletion
• Team settings history or audit log
• IP restriction bypass for specific users
